Hello Lovelies,

Nikay here and I am writing to give you the low down on the why behind bringing a new product line into Mahne Roots Collective.

I know what you’re thinking. It isn’t that serious, why does there need to be blog post? Well, to us it is. One thing we pride ourselves on at Mahne Roots is our authenticity, and the fact we BELIEVE in our brand, and any brand we are selling within the salon.

As some of you might know. I (Nikay) have a fashion and editorial background. I first earned my degree in Fashion Design from FIDM before obtaining my cosmetology license. Later in my career I segwayed that passion for fashion with my hair artistry by leading, styling, fashion shows, vogue editorials, and product campaigns. Why is this important? Well that’s part of the Mahne Roots identity.

The Products used on set NEED to be pliable, yet effective at the same time. The whole goal is to create an aesthetic that YOU desire to be. That’s a campaign right? So the products HAVE to work, while still leaving the hair feeling and looking like hair.

When I left Balmain Hair Couture, I was on the hunt for the next amazing product rooted in fashion, yet still with amazing ingredients. That is when we found Mr. Smith. Mr. Smith is the perfect combination of fashion, sustainability, and quality ingredients. This is EXACTLY what we strive for at Mahne Roots,

Not only that, but when we are looking at products, we take into account the fact that our salon resides in Colorado. What does that mean? It means we need EXTRA moisture. Why? Because Colorado is actually a desert climate with mountains surrounding. Meaning we have 0% humidity. In Colorado our hair, skin, nails, they’re thirsty.

We found that Mr. Smith hair embodies moisture, fashion, pliability, and effectiveness all in one. Oh, and it smells great too.
